Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yep. He was a Sailor and now a Marine.
He's very good at his job. He's always calm and collected. I think I saw him angry only three or four times in his life. He introduced Ayn Rand and Robert Heinlein to me.
He had a t shirt company make a shirt for him that says, "I [heart] Capitalism".
He used to collect knives and he bought me a Benchmade. Since he liked the knife, that means he really likes that knife.
Thanks to you folks at Free Republic.

LOL...Jess and I use the nicknames too...it's just easier that way.
We were both laughing last season when we started subconsiously referring to Reichen & Chip as "Team Frilly".
It's funny how FReep-talk finds its way off the computer!

Okay, an etiquette question ...
Is it impolite to post email exchanges with someone not on FR?

Depends on the motive and whether you would want the person to know you had posted it, and if they ~would~ mind, do you think they would find out!
I've posted friendly exchanges between Sonya or my dad and I here, and winmag posts the emails from the troops.... those are OK.
The one time I thought about it but didn't was when I was in a fight with Sonya and I thought she was being ridiculous. I resisted because I never know when she might actually look.

You'll pick it up pretty quickly! And you can watch the next episode Tuesday with us! Remind me!!!
Got tied up - well as tied up as one can get home alone - and didn't end up seeing the show tonight at all.

Wn, Rose, are either of you on jremier's TAR ping list? Nope. I have actually never watched the show. I just have this daughter who's addicted and keeps telling me that she and I should go be on it. She thinks we can win big or something... But, I don't know the show. Was gonna try to watch it since Bear, Rose and Jen were saying there was a new season. Try to see what my kid is trying to get me into.

Nah, this is an exchange I had with a member of another list that perfectly illustrates the fear liberals have for facts.
She'd never come here ...!

Although they're currently underdogs, I'm going with Chip/Kim. They work well together, and are one of the only couples not to argue in the first leg of the race.Heh, I'm still ignorrant about this. But anyone named Kim has got to have an edge! :-D

Nah, this is an exchange I had with a member of another list that perfectly illustrates the fear liberals have for facts. Let's hear it. We all know 'em. Could be from any of the libs any of us know possibly. Just change the particulars and it would prolly fit.
