Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Ah, OK.

Ugh...that's a drive, isn't it? Or am I confused on distances?

About 9 more weeks. Roy started laying when she was 19 weeks and the new girls are just now 10 weeks. I already have them on layer ration.

They all are getting along...maybe not real chummy, but ok. The big girls picked on the new ones a bit, scared 'em mostly...but that's to be expected.

Do you see any kind of water treatment stuff around her fish supplies?
There is stuff that both neutralizes chlorine, but also the ammonia from waste, and has additives in it to help their slime coat and and stuff. If he needs that, it would just be a drop or two in a little bowl.

No, just came with the food...it's in a big glass vase, actually...

Can I put it in the window? From what I read, they like it warm...

They like warm, but they actually like dark better than light. Remember they live in dark murky puddles. Direct sun will cause green algae.

Mornin' folks.

Mrs. got home safe and sound. I took the boys to meet her, which meant Luke was up about 3 hrs past bedtime. Took a while to get everyone settled down when we got home.

thepool is drivin' me nuts this week. We're out of liquid chlorine. Now, you would assume that the previous president would've told us where to call...

But NO. Somehow things got all "bungled" up. The former president and her husband had run the pool for years. He did the chemicals and we had been told he would continue to do them this year. Then he got all John Kerry on us and said "I said I'd do them, but I'm not going to do them, but I'll do some of them, but I'm not going to...." You get the idea.

So, somewhere in the course of things I've apparently really po'd them, prolly by asking "can you just tell us what you're willing to do?" Now they won't talk to me.

Saturday when we found out we were running low, I called and left a message and said "can you tell me where to call." They didn't call me, but called our pool manager (he's 18 fercryinoutloud - a good kid, but this is NOT his job). I got the word she said "I took care of it."

No delivery yet and we're out. So I gotta call her at work and see if she'll answer me.

I have, however, put out the word that I'm done as of Labor Day, 6 p.m.

If you get the jedis one.... do it a favor and get even a small fish tank with a plant or something ;~D. I'd hate to spend my life in those little tiny containers they put Betas in.

You bet! We gave our chickens 100sqft of run space when we made the totally enclosed pen...40 more than is "needed" for six chickens...but still seems small to me.

This vase has a bunch of rocks and shells in it and it can kinda swim down between them...

I rather make it into someone else's fishtank. But thanks for the thought.

Have a safe trip.
