Hopefully all the messes should be transitory. Problem is, we're re-architecting the mail servers at the same time (or rather... that's the part that will be messy).
We're going down from 26 mail servers to... (drumroll) essentially: One.
Now, that "one" server is actually "three" but they are all only one logical device. Two in a clustered pair (quad cpu P4's with 8GB+ ram... fiberchannel... mega droolage) in the HQ will contain all the mailboxes. A third failover box in the new Phx computer room will mirror off the cluster (gots a T3 to synch over).
Moving all of the mailboxes into the new "One" server will be a massive headache.
But if we pull this off, we'll have a system that will be able to survive a nuclear detonation in any city, let alone a mere power outage, and e-mail will never EVER be interrupted.
It's pretty cool stuff... and it's about as close to cutting edge as I normally get.

Evenin' folks, back from the pool. We continue to be amazed at how much money is being turned in for the snack bar as opposed to what was recorded last year. We have a deposit for this week that is three times what we showed as income for the entire last season. So many things are beginning to make sense.
Luke learned to jump in the pool tonite. Unfortunately, he has not learned how to take his head underwater. So I had to catch him every time. After roughly 65,000 jumps, dad's software programming locks up...
