Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm thinking it must be that time of year, for some reason. The very next day, I came home to find a mouse flat on its back in the living-room, dead. No marks on it...I dunno what happened. Maybe took one look at all the vicious critters in here and had a heart attack!
That's only the second mouse I've ever seen in here, though, so I'll count myself lucky.

Pretty much. I'll have to check back in, but I may just pop in here and leave. Hopefully I won't be in the doghouse for too long ;-)

That's a FINE way to spend an evening, in my book!
I only WISH we had a nice big book store here! But at least we have a nice used place. It's half antique store and half book store...so I can indulge two interests in one. I don't own any antiques, but those kinda places are fun to browse!
And there's the Salvation Army store. The selection varies widely depending on who has dropped stuff off...but they have paperbacks for a quarter and hard backs for fifty cents. I like that!

Mices don't freak me out like those other things. I don't like 'em... they're nasty to have in the house - but they don't skeer me.

okay... the radiator is off'n the tractor... pullin' the whole front shroud was actually fairly easy... extractin' the radiator from the shroud was a diff'rnt matter...
the bastige that owned it a'fore had three diff'rnt sized bolts and a one screw bolt instead of the standard 1/2" bolt/nut set up like it shoulda been... oh... and one of 'em wuz stripped...
now... all I gotta do is take it to a radiator shop and get raped...

No, they don't.
Ladies hide their booze in coffee mugs.
<chuckling>
Once it's in the coffee mug, you can add sparkling water and lemon to it ... who's to see?
But it needs a name. Kansas City Lemonade, maybe?
To: trini
Nope! No dog houses for you! Tell 'em I said so!!! Make 'em call and take it up with me. I'll talk real slow and put 'em to sleep. :-)

Last Friday I wanted to go to the bookstore and then to Ruthy's, but by the time we got out of the pool and bathed the kids and stuff, I was worn out. So, this Friday no pool.
