Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Just stopping in for a moment. I'll sorta be around tonight but have some homework to do. Decided to get a drink first.

You know exactly what I'm talking about, doncha!!! You can just be sitting there dry as a bone one minute in a low spot and WOOSH, be swept away the next minute in a torrent.
Ugh...remember all those kids in that youth group? Got swept away in the Guadalupe? Late 80s?

A lot of pics taken by the other ladies. I just had a disposable thing, and haven't gotten them developed yet. I'll try and post a couple that are my favorites. If the guys here don't mind. hee

And I haven't spoke to you since your trip to the West. I know! You were leaving for Dwight just as it was time for me to come back to Texas! :-)

I'm just wondering, if, practically speaking, you'd have the time and ability to find life preservers and put them on the kids in the middle of an emergency like that!
I mean, When I was on a required LONG cross country to Boise for my commercial pilot's license, it was super hot in the plane, which had poor ventilation, so I took my shoes and socks off, and my shirt off, and I was flyin along like that, wondering.... if I start to crash... will I remember to put my shirt back on or will they just ~really~ wonder about that when they find my body in the burned out wreckage?

LOL Well, this is a van, and I'm HOPING we'll have enough time...and you know, sure...bridges scare me...but even just drainage ditches on either side of the road, when they are full, are a hazard. They are like small bayous.
And then there's the flash floods Rose and I are talking about...
It might not help, but heck, it can't hurt...and it gives me some peace.

No I think it would have worried me to the point of stopping the really important stuff and putting the shirt on....
I mean.... What would my dad have thought?
