Special Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Well, it's official...we ain't goin' to the fireworks. It just started rainin' again and none of us, Nana included, want to see them enough to risk gettin' caught in a rainstorm. Okay, so we didn't ask Luke.
We did that when Luke was a baby. Drove up to DC and were sittin' on the Capitol lawn listening to the concert when the skies opened up. We wuz drenched. Ended up leavin' then stopped on I-395 by the Pentagon and watched 'em from there (with thousands of other people).
Local station is showing Independence Day...where the aliens use Microsoft. *snicker*
That's a good suggestion. We may watch that later. But we need a good America feel good movie that Luke can watch...we're thinkin'...
Jr. and I may do a Blockbuster run.
Ideas?
'Course one of my personal favorites is How the West Was Won...but it's a little long for him. Also partial to Shenandoah.
I think we've decided to go with the live action 101 Dalmations having given up on "America feel good" and gone with "what will hold Luke's attention."
There's another thread running about whether they will cancel the fireworks in DC...we ain't the only soggy ones out there...
I kinda saw some fireworks around KC last night. :)
Bill Gates is probably an alien, true!
He has those bug eyes.
Heh...personally I could take 'em or leave 'em. But it's a family thing. Entertains the boys and Nana...
Did you see them flying in? I flew into DC once on the fourth and caught them as we were landing at Reagan National. That was vey cool.
...and that haircut.
'Course the tragic thing about this evening is that, since we were goin' to the county fairgrounds I didn't chill any beer. Thank goodness there is tonic...
The flight was actually on time yesterday so it was still light when we landed.
Hmmm.....I can always mix some JD with carbonated water and lemon juice.
Hehehe....looks like a dangerous criminal to me.
(It's not my page...honest)
Eeeewww!! But laughing anyway!
Ruthy! Where you bean?
Been beer and there and everywhere today. ;-)
I spent most of the day at my grandmother's waiting for everyone else in the family to show up for what was supposed to be a family BBQ and ice-cream cake celebration.
I was told it would start around noon, but no one got there until about 4pm. Then, because it's been raining all day, the BBQ was cancelled and pizza was ordered instead.
But at least we had ice-cream cake!
Now I'm finally home, Alyson is napping and Becky is waiting for 8:30 so we can stand outside and watch the fireworks that our community association sponsors every year.
We're gonna have our picnic indoors and watch a movie. Works for me...I may be back on later tonite...I hear there's this movie where a wizard does some vey cool fireworks...
I should very much like to watch that movie with my friends someday (Entmoot 05 is a looooooooonnnng way away).
((((RUTHY))))
