Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

There are some truly heroic scenes, including one which made me teary-eyed. "He's just a kid! ..."
And, ye gods, the CGI is spectacular. You will believe in Doc Ock!

It was a kid who had terminal cancer with only a few months to live and their one wish was to know who Spiderman wasI remember that story, but I don't remember that kid's name.
The name Henry Jackson seems so familiar to me, but I just can't place it. Will have to keep searching, I guess.

Got it on tape years ago on A&E. Hi-Larious!
There are several items in my VHS collection--including but not limited to my "home" videos-- lined up for when a DVD recorder or DVD-burner-equipped computer becomes economically feasible.

Good mornin' everyone.
Just got one thought to share this mornin'.
I'm headed over to my home town for our annual 4th of July Celebration. In Valley Mills, Texas, we really only celebrate *one* holiday as a town. The rest of the holidays stay within families and other groups. But, we celebrate the 4th of July.
We don't do Cinco de Mayo. We don't do Martin Luther King Day. We don't do any other Patriotic Holidays even. But, my thought on this today is that - we don't need to. We wouldn't have those other holidays without 4th of July and what it means. For our Nation, our Independence, our Liberty, this is the one that as a group encompasses them all.
I'm glad I'm from this town. I have on my red, white and blue and I'm off to grab my HAM radio and guide the local volunteer fire department in blocking off the highway for our parade.
God Bless America!

Safe journey OT - depending on when you get in and the flight path, you may get to see the bridges lit up. The Paseo - red lights; The Heart of America - white lights and The Broadway - blue lights. Should be something to see. But with the airshow and all, you may go north of the city to the airport.
