I frankly don't see how ONE HOUR'S worth of babysitting merits the overnight stay. Why not just pay her back with one hour some other time?
I've watched my nephew overnight many, many, many times. My sister will tell me she'll be back by 10pm or some such thing and then disappears until the next day. trini knows I am the true oddball in the family.
But this is how my family operates. Do you know that my mom ~charges~ me to watch the girls while I work to pay all of the bills? Oh yes...$500/month for babysitting charges on top of the mortgage, utilities, groceries, insurance, car payments....
I haven't been able to pay her lately simply because I do not earn enough to pay for everything plus pay her, but she keeps a running tab and reminds of it every so often.
I've tried to explain that it's a mutually-beneficial relationship. I work and pay for everything so she doesn't have to work or lose her house, etc and she watches the kids so I don't have to pay a day care or worry about their well-being.
She doesn't see it that way.

Funny thing is Ruthy, we took care of him... made sure he drank all kinds of water, a whole pitcher of it at the bar and more when we got home... while I didn't take the same medicine. I think I feel like I drove over more bad road than he did.
hehehehe....that Alka-Seltzer stuff they have at the store works quite well from what I hear! :-)
Next time, take care to match him drink for drink, water included!

Sigh...more Nana stuff.
She was amazing last week, taking care of Luke, doing dishes, cleaning house, working in the yard, cooking meals. When the wife got home she fell apart again.
Wife had the "you are not going to suck the life out of me and my family" talk with her yesterday. Wife has also been "encouraging" her younger sister (that lives in Richmond) to call every day and take Nana out somewhere once a week. She has three young children, but she manages to get anywhere else she wants to go.
Just got an e-mail back from b-i-l saying the younger sister thinks we're asking her to assume responsibility for caring for her mother. No, we're just asking her to pay attention.
I told him we expected nothing from the North Carolina siblings. But as it stands right now, Nana has been abandoned by four of her five children...

Had some severe thunderstorms pass through last night...good thunderboomers! Ended up with both jedis in the bed with me. Woke up stiff from not moving for hours with Joshua under my left arm and Matthew's left arm wrapped around my head! LOL I was able to extricate myself without waking either of them, amazingly.
'lectricity was out for a bit here afterward...my mom's is still out.

Actually, I always noticed and appreciated it, but didn't know I'd miss it like this since she is gone! LOL
Besides, I sent her those flatbreads and I'm dying to know what she thinks of them...when is she coming home?? I hope not weeks from now, cause they'll be moldy by then!!
