Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

They're the kind of glasses that don't have a metal bottom rim...the lens is held in place by some plastic/polymer like material. Anyway...while driving in a hot car, one side of that plastic thing just fell away and dumped the left lens in my lap. I was driving around holding the lens up.

Okay...so switch to contact lenses only I fumbled the right lens. So now I'm driving down the road with a left contact lens and looking through the right lens of a busted pair of glasses. Uber Geek!

And silly me didn't bring extra lenses to NC!

Actually it starts Saturday, tomorrow they start closing off the streets to the park. For the first time they are charging $10 a person to get in and $5 for the shuttle bus from Downtown across the bridge to the airport.

It would probably be worth it, I used to see the airshow when it was at Richards-Gebauer AFB, they mustered out all the Police Reserves and Deputies and we would walk around getting sunburned and taking lost kids to the announcers booth.

Dang Corin... had to jump over and read that one.

Holy. Smokes.

:-)

I dunno... I think it's kinda cute when limited little created beings think that they can accurately plumb the mind of God. That's a pretty safe time to think that everybody in the room is wrong... and go out for a beer, which as we all know, is proof indeed that God loves us and wants us to be happy. I need know little else.

It's sorta like my standard post on CrEvo threads: "Interesting theory you got there, but I wasn't there, so I dunno."

It sounds really cool. I've never been the the Air & Sea Show they have down here every year because the crowds and traffic are horrendous! I'd love to go though.

Yup. Rush.

It's just staggering to me that I've never been to a Rush concert... seeing how there were a couple of whole years when I played precious little else on my [ahem] turntable.

I was supposed to go to a Rush concert at the Gorge Amphitheater a few years ago. Had tickets. Had tent. Had server crash. Stayed up all night rebuilding SCSI RAID array instead. Somehow, it just wasn't the same.

See, that's my philosophy too. I've always lived by the thought that anyone who claims to have all the truth probably has very little of it. The Scriptures actually tell us we have very little of it.

All I've every wanted "them" to admit is that their theology is just one man's interpretation. That's the best any of us can do.

I lurk and hold my tongue as long as I can. But sometimes I just get carried away. I'm far from innocent. But I'm certainly not the only problem.

But you had fun, didn't you... go on, admit it... there was a certain catharsis happening there... :-)

Whistles are only fun when you vent a little steam.

Tho... I've awakened more times that I care to admit and re-read what I'd posted the night before... and thought... ya know... it was the last beer that I really shouldn'ta had. That was the one that pushed me over the edge. :-)
