What a bummer of a day--are your glasses totally broken or can you take them somewhere (lenscrafters, eyemasters, gerry optical) and get them put back together? Optical places are very good about putting glasses back together, at no or a very nominal charge. LSA
Might I suggest Duct Tape or for a more refined look, try black electricians tape (comes in flat or glossy black) OB

Since the worst of my days over there, I've pared it down to just a handful of people I simply can't converse with. The subject in question happens to be one of them.

I can tell! But it's just silly to try and talk to them. They obviously feel that Heaven will be them, God, Jesus and the Select (disciples, Mary, etc).
There's no reasoning with those kind of people. They ~have~ to feel that important because it's the only thing that validates their self-importance!
