The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

To be honest, I feel more angry about the irresponsiblity and inconsideration than I am about not being able to sleep in on Saturday.

I know exactly what you mean Ruthy. The thing that kept me angriest at Myranda's dad wasn't all the stuff he did to me - but what he put her through. I dunno, making the kid suffer is just too very wrong. That is just inhuman.

But, you are right, the girls will learn that they can count on you. It is so important for kids to always know that there is *someone* on the face of the earth that they can depend on. You are that for them and that is priceless. I got 2 girls that will confirm that for ya!

I've got a prayer request today ya'll.

Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Lynn's son Jason has been having a little medical problem. A heart arythmia. He saw a specialist from Austin today and they diagnosed him with Wolf-Parkinson-White. This is an neurological electrical problem. It looks like he will need a surgical procedure to correct this. The procedure sounds fairly routine and safe but is not done in this area so Jason will have to be going to Austin for it.

Jason is only a year older than Jill. Cheryl and I raised them together so he is almost like a son to me. And I always refer to him as my favorite cousin. Because our families are so close, Myranda refers to Jason as her big brother. He is just so dear to us. He also has a wife and two small kids that I keep a lot when I'm here. Stephanie and the kids need him well.. gosh, you all know this.

Anyway, we're getting this all sorted out today and tomorrow. I may try to be here to keep the kids so that Stephanie, Cheryl and Lynn can all be in Austin when he has the surgery. This also will have to work around some doctor stuff for me but I think I need to be here to do this so pray that the timing will work out.

This is part of the family mini-drama that I was talking about the other morning. We just sure do need prayer for all this circumstance. Thanks.

That doesn't look like a short pier...

It's prolly about 100 yards out. I'm surprised it made it through the storm. It's around milepost 9 (I think). One down at milepost 16 that had a restaurant on it is completely gone.

We'll be praying WN. That sounds very similar to a procedure my Mom had done last year (the year before?). She did fine with it.

Thanks Corin. I just relayed that information to Aunt Cheryl. She appreciates the news. Jason's her only child. She really appreciates the prayers and support.

"I don't think I should post that over "there.""

I don't know where it belongs, but I figured you'd be able to help it find a good home somewhere :)

I like this one below.... I like the flame on the tiki torch in the foreground, and beyond it, on the corner of the dock, dressed in grass skirts, are the shooooes.
