ok, this seems to be the place to post this.

With the story today about the possible flip of magnetic poles, the recent sudden upsurge in solar activity is of note.

After being extremely quiet for the last two months, the last 24 hours have brought not one, not two, but four M-class solar flares.

This is nothing in itself to be alarmed about, but, what is surprising is that these flares are from some relatively quiet sumspots that are just now transiting over the western limb and there are two VERY LARGE sunspots rising over the eastern limb.

These sunspots will probably have the potential to unleash X-class solar flares. If we get a spate of X-class solar flares in rapid succession, there will be effects to communications and satellites.

In the very least, we will get to see some beautiful auroras in areas you wouldn't normally see them, even as far south as florida and arizona!!! Yay!!

So, keep you eyes on www.spaceweather.com over the next week or so, if you see an x-class flare reported with a CME directed towards earth, go outside to look for aurora's 48-72 hours later.

The show could be great!! Particularly with a weaker magnetic filed, these things could propogate very far south!!

Well thank you Mr. Crockett. I know I am not always right, but God gave men common sense, I believe it is a gift and one that is disappearing far to quickly. I fully agree with the scripture "Come let us reason together." Fighting over religious doctrine and anger is usually a sign someone is not secure in their beliefs. I very much appreciated your willingness to listen and not blow up. Most of all I appreciate a forum that lets you speak and the fun making and flaming doesn't start, not that it ever stopped me. But peaceful discussion is so much more civilized don't you think? lol
