along the lines of getting "the big picture", i often like to use an analogy. the word of god is a treasure to mankind, like a "pearl of great price" (matt. 13;46)
if i were the "enemy", and i didnt want people to know the "the pearl", i'd spread hundreds of "faux pearls" on the table, and mix them all up with the true (ONE) pearl. i guess it's not hard to see that finding the true would be a task, yes? not to mention all the side tracks - time - it takes to sift thru all the faux.
First post here.
Over on TM I posted the dream that I had several months ago- involving falling stars becoming missiles - followed by an enormous (and incredibly beautiful) aurora that filled 2/3 of the night sky.
About 3 months ago, my son was dropping me off in Harrisburg. He was headed out to school, and I was going to spend the day touring the Capital and accessing the internet from the State Library.
Before he had to leave for school, we were trying to find the State Library building.
We were walking from Strawberry Square, and located what looked to be the library, on a map. We entered a large building called "The Forum". It was a Sunday.
Neither of us had ever been there before.
The Forum appeared to be of Roman design. Ornate, heavy doors- rams heads or the like for door handles. Inside- ornate depictions of various Roman scenes.
Absolutely empty.
We could hear organ music.
We opened another door, and peered inside a large auditorium (empty)- where a lone individual was playing the organ.
The immediate impression was that of the ending of an Empire.
I don't know why- perhaps it was the emptiness of the place, the music, the Romanesque surroundings, the columns and rams heads and the like....
It felt surreal - and mournful.
Both son and I reacted the same way-- the end of an Empire.
Not Rome this time, but the United States.
Location was Harrisburg, PA.
