I can't shut off my cable because then I would have to pay a reconnect fee. But I would be willing to just leave the TV off for a couple weeks!

That's all you'd have to do. If everyone turned off that TV for one night, the suits would be flinging themselves from windows after seeing the "overnights" (ratings).

It'll never happen, of course. sigh We have such power and never use it. I think everyone just wants to bitch and moan instead of actually living in a better world.
