Journeys End
The days journey back to shore,
Ends much as it begins.
One hopes the boat rides deeper,
In the water that its in.
Thanks to the weight of meals aboard,
Still wearing shells and scales.
It is a work environment,
Out in the sea in sails.
Some think that there is pleasure,
Joining the sea and wind,
For those who work the lines at sea,
The joys at journeys end.
For any harsh and rough life,
The rule seems much the same,
The harder you work for daily bread,
The less it feels a game.
And while the work has its rewards,
And keeps the table fed,
The journeys end has great appeal,
After our prayers are said.

Hi Amy, perhaps you can help. I'm looking for a poem, I kinda think it may have been one of the classical greeks, ain't sure, may have been contempory, anyway, it details a hundred men going into combat, from a coward, to those who would follow the coward, to those who would weigh the fight from the rear and those who would fight from the front of the group, to those ten fighters who would follow the one warrior. If that rings any bells with you, or any y'all, I'd apprieciate the reference.

Amy, Amy, Amy - Good afternoon! You posted today's thread yesterday! (Unless you are still on East Coast Time!) Even for me it was yesterday! LOL!
(The reason I noticed is that I got the Finest up - my time - at 11:58PM 6-8-04, and Amy's was already there when My Comments opened.)
Now I see that woofie has issued invitations to all his followers to come over and dance with him, so hope to see you soon. Right now, the dance floor is being rewaxed, but it should be polished and ready to go again shortly - your 'bro just about wore the finish off it this morning. :)
