Well, I searched for it too, following my own advice.
I did not find the poem alluded to, but I found something that I thought Conspiracy Guy would appreciate.

So this one's for Lulubelle... by Rudyard Kipling...

Dinah in Heaven
"The Woman in His Life"
From "Limits and Renewals" (1932)

She did not know that she was dead,
But, when the pang was o'er,
Sat down to wait her Master's tread
Upon the Golden Floor,

With ears full-cock and anxious eye
Impatiently resigned;
But ignorant that Paradise
Did not admit her kind.

Persons with Haloes, Harps, and Wings
Assembled and reproved;
Or talked to her of Heavenly things,
But Dinah never moved.

There was one step along the Stair
That led to Heaven's Gate;
And, till she heard it, her affair
Was--she explained--to wait.

And she explained with flattened ear,
Bared lip and milky tooth--
Storming against Ithuriel's Spear
That only proved her truth!

Sudden--far down the Bridge of Ghosts
That anxious spirits clomb--
She caught that step in all the hosts,
And knew that he had come.

She left them wondering what to do,
But not a doubt had she.
Swifter than her own squeal she flew
Across the Glassy Sea;

Flushing the Cherubs every where,
And skidding as she ran,
She refuged under Peter's Chair
And waited for her man.

. . . . . . .

There spoke a Spirit out of the press,
'Said:--"Have you any here
That saved a fool from drunkenness,
And a coward from his fear?

"That turned a soul from dark to day
When other help was vain;
That snatched it from Wanhope and made
A cur a man again?"

"Enter and look," said Peter then,
And set The Gate ajar.
"If know aught of women and men
I trow she is not far."

"Neither by virtue, speech nor art
Nor hope of grace to win;
But godless innocence of heart
That never heard of sin:

"Neither by beauty nor belief
Nor white example shown.
Something a wanton--more a thief--
But--most of all--mine own."

"Enter and look," said Peter then,
"And send you well to speed;
But, for all that I know of women and men
Your riddle is hard to read."

Then flew Dinah from under the Chair,
Into his arms she flew--
And licked his face from chin to hair
And Peter passed them through!

Thanks!

If you ever decide to visit DC, it is a lovely city, just don't come in the summer (from about June thru August) because it is very hot, temps getting to nearly 100degrees and it is very humid.

Sep. to About May would be better months to come, especially in March and April when the Cherry Blossums are out.

I've been watching TV most of the afternoon.

Isn't it refreshing to see the outpouring of affection for our beloved President Reagan.

How about some music?

I live in Anne Arundel County, Maryland about an hour's drive to DC. I work in Baltimore.

Unfortunately I didn't get to go into DC as I couldn't get away from work and it was really hot and muggy in Baltimore and DC. I saw it all on TV though you could see how humid it was, really early for it to be like that. now I heard it's going to be cooler on Friday (about 70 degrees in Baltimore) I was going to try to go to the Cathedral were they are having a public ceremony. but I thought I read were someone posted that it was by invatation only then I saw he/she mustv'e gotten it wrong. I would guess I could still go if I knew if I could get into the Cathedral.

God Is Faithful

God's word is so true!

To make a long story short, but not lacking the good parts, after
graduating from college and looking and applying for a teaching job, I
was a very disappointed that I didn't get hired right away. I knew I
would have to substitute, and I did not want to. I cried and was about
to turn away from teaching all together.

Thank God for the prayers of my friends and family, God changed my heart.
I heard Him say to me, "He who wants to be great must be servant of
all." So, I said, ok Lord, I'll substitute teach.

I started out in the school district as a substitute teacher aide, not
even a substitute teacher, but a substitute teacher's aide! I was
assigned lunch room duty and recess duty, not teaching at all. But, I
was glad to do it! That was the very first day I came in to sub and the
office just happened to be looking for a substitute teacher for the next
week. They knew I wanted to teach, so they called me in for a week of
sub. teaching!

I thought it was for 1st grade, but it turned out that when I got there
it was Special Ed. I dreaded and feared Special Ed! But, the Lord had
other plans. I did it for that week and I enjoyed it! After that, I was
called in for another week for a 1st grade teacher, and ended up staying
the week after that...and ended up staying for her maternity leave!
He is so good! Then she decided to stay home with her baby, so I had the
class for the rest of the year!

At the same time as all of this is going on, I just started a financial
budget. I began making $6.75 an hour as a sub. aide, and I'm saying,
Lord, I have college loans, how am I going to pay them making this? He
said, "Trust me in this. Give to me the first 10% and see if I will not
throw open the floodgates of heaven and throw out so much blessing on you
that you won't have enough room for it." So, I started tithing.

And it was so exciting to watch how He kept slowly increasing my pay,
giving me "back pay," increasing my pay, adding on insurance benefits,
etc...to the point where now He gave me a full time job next year in the
same school with a nice starting salary with benefits! Tell me God is
not faithful to His word!!

He is faithful and I hope this encourages some teacher out there who may
be looking for a job and wondering what in the world to do? I know God
works in different ways for different people, but He never changes and
neither does His word. Take Him at His word!!

Pray the prayer of Jabez! (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)

God is answering!! God Bless!
Testimonie from a friend

Hi Amy!

I've been watching TV most of the afternoon.

I've been watching, too. It was absolutely beautiful. Right now I'm watching Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush on Larry King.

Thanks for "Early in the morning." :-)
