I liked Fozzy, too :) The show was on from 1976-1981, though syndicated much later. This site lists who did the character voices:

"The Muppet Show"

It says Frank Oz did animal and Jim Henson did Kermit. Don Music was done by Richard Hunt, who also used to do Elmo, according to this site.

The really cool thing about the Muppets was that it was on Prime Time television *and* my dad watched it with me (sometimes). He loved the two old men in the balcony. The humor was universal and it was not just a kids' show.
