Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It can crack windows, but it won't touch you. I've prayed for a strong hedge of protection around you. (((WN)))

The one thing I reall hope for... fer weddin'moot... is that at least it isn't windy. I can cope with cool (can build fires), I can cope with rain (have portable shelters). But windy will chase all of us inside. That would be a bummer.

You put masking tape on windows.
To: Overtaxed
You do? Well... I s'pose since it comes off easier... but once it is broken... it's gonna be replaced anyway?

LOL... I like wind. :-)
I know, it would be a mess for the wedding... but I still like it! :-)
If Ruthy and I pack sorta light are you gonna let both of us borrow your sweatshirts? It's not like you'll be thinkin' you need them! :-)
I was gonna ask you at some point before we came up there is you were gonna have aloe vera on hand, cause I get sunburned after a couple of hours. But, now, it sounds as though I will need to be sufficiently covered that it will be of no concern! LOL

The tape is to keep it from shattering into shards and spraying everywhere, not to keep it from breaking.
To: Ramius
Cracked but a small piece fell out. Taped it back.
I don't like winders breakin'.
Weird thing is, these wind gusts are comin' from the north... but that window is on the south side of the house. There is a lot of swirling going on. Winds coming from all directions. The *big* gusts are from the north though.

I just finished dessert and am getting ready to hit the hay, here.
Tomorrow should be more of the same...'cept warmer, hopefully. And I need to run out to Dad's and see if I can steal a bunch of soil and leaf mulch stuff to try to make the dirt here SOMEwhat capable of growing things. It's mostly sand, unfortunately.

I can't decide whether I want tea or coffee.
To: Overtaxed
Tea I think.
Good idea.
It's chilly outside here now. If it was as cold inside as it is outside I'd have to put on long sleeves.
So, tea might be nice about the time I get the water hot.
