Growing up we rarely had sugary cereals. Grandma brought them when she visiting once every LONG while...mostly I remember her bringing Golden Grahams.

I got to the point where I'd refuse to eat oatmeal. Mom used to make it kinda thin, and it'd be slimy. Ick.

But I like oatmeal now!

I didn't ever get much into eating in the mornings. I get hungry about lunch time... and for the remainder of the day. LOL

Give me brown sugar-cinnamon pop tarts!!!

I actually used to like those...also back in my days in Germany. We had no chow hall and no kitchens, so I learned to like a lot of things you could do in the microwave. Those qualified. Cook 'em until they're a little crisp.

But I like real food better! I'm VERY happy to have a kitchen!

Okay ... was talking to a customer today who's located in Seattle. Told him I would be up there in a couple of days, and mentioned Gig Harbor.

I've been pronouncing it "Gig" --- as in, "buggy," as in the first sylabble of "giggle." But my customer pronounced it "Jig" --- as in "dance," as in "jiggle."

So which is it?

gaaak!...

He was prolly one of those kids who'd put sugar on corn flakes and Cheerios.

I had a friend who did that...I found it shocking! We just didn't DO stuff like that.

Yer customer ain't from 'round here.

It's Gig, like you said it, as is giggle. A "gig" is a type of boat, from whence came the name.

It's Gig! like the music job "got a gig"... Or a small rowboat called a "gig".

Your silly customer should get out of the city more... Bet they pronounce Puyallup wrong too.
