Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Austin City Managers should be strung up and left till they drop for parts.
When they started that construction in the Ben White area, I was still living in Austin. I've been here over 12 yrs.

Now y'all without sin can cast the first stone....
With the benefit of hindsight, maybe it wasn't a good idea... but at the time, Ed's little plan seemed like the solution to all our problems, answer to all our prayers...

But ya see, they could vote for it cause they ain't gotta drive across it and pay the tolls! Seemed okay to them.
Isn't that why ya'll have firearms? Is it time to use 'em? :-)

That's it.... two lanes, same as we got now, and an HOV lane. You forgot the part about where we get to pay $6 for the priveledge of driving in the same two lanes we had before that were already bought and paid for with tolls.
State law prevents them from putting a toll back on a bridge that was bought and paid for with tolls. So... they build another bridge and put a toll on that, but then make each bridge only one-way each way.
Bastidges.

... Lookahere, young sportsman... That-there's the kitchen area where Ma and Pa chow down. Over there's the TV, two hours a day maximum, either educational or football so's you don't ruin your appreciation of the finer things. This-here's the divan, for sociahzin' and relaxin' with the family unit. Yessir, many's the day we sat there and said wouldn't it be nice to have a youngster here to share our thoughts and feelin's?

Am I being rude to want to do my own thing with the kids on Father's day instead of sharing them with the EX's? No, you're not being rude. Tell the local EX grandparents they can visit another day.

When they started that construction in the Ben White areaYep, Rose was talking about this the other day... since 1990 they've completed the US183 freeway all the way from I35 to RM620. In the same time they've made almost no progress on Ben White, except to screw it up further....
To: My back yard
I was further thinkin' back... I know they were already into the Ben White construction when I married Myranda's dad cause he had an aunt and uncle living out toward Del Valle. We would have to go out Ben White from Lake Travis to get to their house. That puts the construction pre-'83.
The weird thing is how it just *never* gets finished. They tear up parts that they just finished to do new stuff. It doesn't look like any kind of planning goes into it!

Can you tell me how often the bids go up? I'm not sure what you mean. The bidding process is random and they go up whenever someone shows up to that item and puts a bid in. If you put in a maximum bid, it will sit at the lowest possible bid for you to win until someone goes over that and it will automatically increase your bid in increments up to your highest bid.
As far as I know that's the only way bids go up automatically. I'm pinging 300winmag. He's got more eBay experience.
