(((Ruthy in the pool)))
Mornin' chica, at least here my 80 is not sticky. For the last few weeks our weather here has been my kinda heaven. Dry and in the 80's and lower 90's. I am at my heat-lovin' best! :-)
Did you or Steve give Joshua instructions about how to handle those gravel slides so he can think about bein' prepared next time?
He was turnin' left. If there's time try to turn right, put down left leg to catch self and throw right leg over the bike to get off? Sometimes.... sometimes you can stop the skid and sometimes the bike goes down but you can just step off and not get hurt.
I sent ya 3 degrees. I'll send ya a few more as the day warms up. :-)
I think we had a norther come through with that sprinkle yesterday. It's only 76 here this morning. :-)
And I have lots of friends there who keep *trying* to get me to take jobs there! Yeah, right! I don't even want to *think* about that. I am miserable just visiting them in almost all months! Tucson is *much* better!
I missed the spill post, but Eh - don't fret about that... all of us grew up without wearing bike helmets ever!
Talk about pluck, the little kid that used to own my pony prolly got dumped off of her 20 times... basically every time he ever rode her. We'd just pick him up and put him back on. Kids are durable... It's grown ups that can't take the spills. I got thrown off a couple years ago and hurt for a week!
I think Steve actually might have taught him something last night after they rode to the store for the ice cream. I got on my bike and rode down to watch them practicing in the church parkinglot down the street...he had him driving through gravel, but I never saw him slip.
Although I don't know if anything coulda stopped this slide...he turned the same instant he hit the gravel, going too fast and went down FLOP right on his face and right side...seemed instantaneous.
Remembering it, I ran over to him and it seemed like I just flew...like my legs didn't even move. I was standing in front of my driveway and he fell in the neighbor's driveway, so he wasn't too far, but still a bit of a distance. I ran, jerked him up, dragged his bike out of the driveway and in to the neighbor's yard, still holding him and then ran back with him in my arms...and I don't recall ever being out of breath! Shaking, but not winded.
Adrenalin...good stuff that!
Definitely!! Those fellas need a snow-maker over there!
exactly!
and look how well gnad and corin turned out!
I don't mind dry and hot either, chica! It's the weather that causes your clothes to stick to you that is the WORST!
Kids'll do that to ya! :-) Good thing that. :-)
Agreed! That sounds like Houston. I expect ya'll get a little more breeze at least... but that kinda humidity would make me insane!
Club trip to Bimini is back on, heading out tomorrow morning, so will again be out of touch a few days.
I hate that weather, too. Luckily we rarely get it up that way.
Heh...brings to mind the many cars with vinyl seats we had growin' up. Getting out of the car after sittin' for awhile in shorts was like pulling off a biiiiiiig band-aid. Ouch!
Still too early!
mine?
mine?
