Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I have some pictures of a Siberian Husky I used to have, tearing up some packing materials.
Styrofoam bits were flying everywhere.

Let me know how that turns out! He weren't amused. Now it's degenerated to us foisting the worst set of the relatives on each other's households...
(I think I offered him the bottom of the barrel tho)

2J, Weren't you the one with the air mattress for camping?
I need to buy one for Jr. for choir tour and need some ideas: cheap, compact, easy to inflate/deflate.

We already had an inflater...the kind that plugs into a car cigarette lighter...
I got just a plain old queen-sized green Colman that's "flocked" on one side. Works great, but when out in the tent, you need a blanket or something between the bed and the ground...the cold ground seems to seep through! Being in a sleeping bag would fix the problem, I imagine.
OT uses an airbed...

Oh, and there's a place on our inflater that sucks all the air out of the bed. That makes it easy to fold back up. We fold ours until it's pretty narrow, then roll it from one end and it fits into a nylon duffle bag we already had.

OT had a mattress at Entmoot that I think had a pump with it.

I've got an Aero bed and it has it's own pump. I don't know if you can get an adapter for it (to run the pump off a car battery), but I have to plug it into a regular wall socket.

They'll be sleeping in churches or in a gym. So he should have access to electricity.

Yeah, it's pretty comfortable. I don't have it up all the way. I think Miss Cat would have preferred that I got the double size.
