Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

If I had a cellar to get into, I wouldn't be so scared though.

No basements in Florida, so we're lucky we have few tornadoes here. But I could never live in the Midwest without a cellar or basement of some type to get into.

Guess I'd have to put the master bedroom in the basement if I keep sleeping through storms.

When you were watching us on the dock before, were the people you know recognizable down there? - or are we just blobs?

Whew! Good thing that.

It looks pretty centered right about there. Where will you and ecurbh be standing?

I can't believe that I will be there this time next week!

we'll be standing on the dock, (where that boat is now) and folk will be gathered around on the sand (unless we figured the tide wrong, in which case you'll be standing about waist deep in water. ;~D

You forgot to include the temperature of the water! *shiver*

"As soon as I got hold of a CD burner for the 'puter I started a long-term ('cuz it's time-intensive, even without a life) project of transferring old family LP's to CD."

That's a good idea--I need to do that. Have a whole mess of old records like that--various nursery rhymes and fairy tales, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, etc. Got one of "The Hobbit" that Disneyland records did. Not sure if I still have my Peter Rabbit record or not. I used to have one of those record players that you could project a filmstrip through while the record was playing so you could watch as you listened.

It's a far away view, to be sure. I could see someone with what appears to be a dark jacket on, but cannot tell who it is.

You two need to be sure to run up to the camera after the weddin and wave "hello"!

"Howcum those jet engines sound like props?"

No real jets were harmed during the making of this film.
