Nah, we have soccer mom mail ladies here.

Though I did go to a hair place this one time... and the male hairdressers were singing along with Frank Sinatra... that was a little strange.

We watched a LOT of musicals growing up. A LOT. One of my brothers works in San Francisco now, and says he always feels like he knows WAY more about show tunes than any heterosexual guy has a right to...

I break out singing show tunes. Should I be worried?

You would be, if you were a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

What's for lunch?

I'm extra hungry today. Dunno why. I already ate my lunch, but I'm wishing I'd brought some extra vegetables or something.

More shrimp. I like 'em, but I think the bag my mom bought was just a little bit too big.

Being hungry is good! Means your metabolism is working right.

Except that I've been stuck on one weight for almost three weeks...so wanting to eat everything in sight isn't very beneficial...

But I have cheese. And tea. And more snacks at home.

Guess I'll live.

Ooh, and today is payday! I could make something GOOD for dinner!

You do that! Make something really special. What have you been wanting (that's on the diet?)

Sigh, I haven't been very strict this week and I'm wondering about the scale tomorrow... but I do feel thinner, that's something right?

We're in the midst of "birthday season" here. Almost all of us (Jim and I are the exceptions) have birthdays during May, June and July. So...temptation abounds, and I can't really avoid eating SOME bad stuff without causing a fuss. This weekend is Bilbo's.

But I think I'm just stalled...I've been pretty good, for the most part.

Hm...I'm thinking steak and asparagus for tonight, or in any case something and asparagus. It's even on sale this week! I love asparagus...

Oh, that sounds good - the steak, anyway. I don't care for asparagus.

In my family, we have at least one birthday per month from October to March. Then we skip April, mine's in May, and nothing until October again. But there are a lot of cakes in that period.

Sigh. I'm going to miss that. Not the cake, the fun of it. And maybe the cake, too.

Yeah, birthdays away are tough. Especially if its your own - no matter how people try to make it up to you, it isn't the same.

We have two in May, three in June, and one in July...then the two of us in October. The one in July used to complain that we were all broke by the time it got to HIS birthday. ;-)

I was in bootcamp during Christmas one year. That was...rather sad.

Awww...

I'll get home for Christmas this year, for sure. In the future... well, I shan't borrow trouble. But Thanksgiving will probably be me... on my own... I'll order a pizza or something...

Paddock boots in the paddock? No way! They're too nice! :~D

They're gonna be for riding in! Ecurbh's been riding in tennis shoes or hiking boots which really isn't good. Need a sole like these and a heel that will not stick in the stirrups or slide through them.

Wife and I used to have "Fred" cut our hair when we lived in DC. Fred had a Halloween party one year and we stopped by. He came in drag.

The shoes and the dress fit far too well to have been borrowed.

We didn't go back much after that...

I remember one Thanksgiving in Germany...usually all of us would get together, and it was a really wonderful time. But that year, I was on temporary duty at another base, but got a ride back to my home base for that weekend. However, no one really knew I was back, and I didn't feel like I could just invite myself to someone's house at the last minute, though in retrospect I prolly coulda.

I ended up with a turkey TV dinner and a big box of chocolate. It was kinda pitiful. *snif*
