Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Nobody tosses birdseed at a NASCAR event.

I got an email today from the guy at BladeMatrix. He wants to charge us $4 for the laser engraving that Highest Honor charges $6.25. He's sent one sample already, marked "proto", which is
okay, but I asked him to try another with different settings. I dunno if he's going to try to squeeze down his logo to fit the front of the blade, and whether that advertisingg is getting us a better deal.
When I get the next sample, if it looks good, I'll take it to HH and show them the invoice, and see if they want to match it.
I feel kinda hard-nosed about this, but it is our hard-earned after-tax dollars, and every cent goes back into more stuff for the troops.

That's why we might have to switch it to chicken feed for the weddin'. A tad bit more dignified.

Hey, I trust your judgement in this. If the BladeMatrix engraving isn't up to specs then we don't want it!

Speaking of which, Baby Abigail's parents must be going through the roughest spot of sleeplessness just about now... Sleep? Who needs it. We can sleep next year.

I wouldn't recommend tossing ~anything~ at the bride and groom! Every seagull for ten miles can recognize the sight of a human arm tossing any kind of food!

But the whole tossing of rice, or birdseed, is supposed to insure your fertility!

Although I have to admit I was LMAO at the possible webcam images.
