Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I was hoping to get a lot done this evening! But a lot of it was gonna be outdoors...don't think that's gonna happen.

At least it's cooler - not cold, but pleasant.

It's pouring here.

Believe it or not, with all the storms that have come through...we really needed rain! The storms were windy and intense, but no good soaking rain!

We're getting a good steady rain now. 72 degrees.

Hey Hair...

What is the name of that website where you can track airplanes? I used it during entmoot...

We've had so much rain that the ground is barely absorbing any. *sigh*

But it's supposed to be sunny and in the 70s for most of next week. That will be just about perfect!

Well, between this post and the last is how much time it took me to shower, pack for wedding moot and pack to go see Myranda. Think I forgot anything? I'm all ready now for both places.... now to call Myranda.

I don't have a parka.... :-)

But, my jacket is packed in the wedding moot stuff.... along with a bandana in it's pocket in case my ears get a wind chill.

Okay. All the rush for nothing. Well, not nothing... but the rush was for nothing.

Called Myranda. My dad is taking her to Austin to a museum tomorrow so they're gonna be busy tomorrow. So, I'm gonna leave VEY early Friday morning - or maybe go halfway and stay at Grama's house tomorrow night - and then I can see her this weekend. Except she's working an 8 hour shift Saturday ON her birthday. But, I'll get to spend some days with her before she goes to live with her dad again. :-)

Sadly, yes, I am traveling without boots.

I used to have a policy of always *wearing* the boots on the flight. They take up too much room in luggage so I wear them.... that way I have them.

But, alas, since we have to remove our footwear at airports now, that is just not realistic. So, no boots.

Although, were a terrorist on the plane, I could certainly enjoy putting those gauges on the boots to good and heavy use!

Hey, it's something.

But still must be kind of a let down.

But I'm glad you'll at least be able to see her!

Actually, no let down. Since I had been thinking I wouldn't be able to visit at all this is good. And last night, I had heard that they were having a party for her - which I would have missed. But, they aren't. And she is excited that I'm getting to come. She says she's going with me to see the friend who's giving me the gas money so she can give him a big hug too. :-)

Did you almost forget it? My first thought was, "Now she'll have time to remember all the things she forgot to pack!"

Okay, I put in a second pair of shoes.

I think the cell phone charger is gonna have to be an item for ya'll to remind me of! Now that I don't go see Myranda until Friday - I will have it plugged in with the phone till then. I'll need to take it there.... and then, I'll need to take it to Wedding Moot.

The good thing about all this is that up to now, I've just thought about what to pack for wedding moot. I had a lot of stuff I'd sat out on the couch for consideration but was going to put thought into what I needed. Then, in a half hour, I was done - no thought at all! Left a lot of stuff on the couch, put some in and that was it. LOL

And I'm all ready to go see Myranda too. Gonna have to get her present now. Was going to get her one while in Washington... gotta find another plan.
