Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

LOL, Dwight is very good still. :) Yeah, when I'm down, I turn to his cd's and stuff and feel immediatly better. I still don't know why that is. But it works for me. Hey! You know that Gretchen Wilson of the song 'Redneck Woman', has a song on that Here For The Party cd with a chorus that goes something like --

I Turn down the light
And turn up the Dwight

lol, yeah.

they want me to at least sweep up some cobwebs before company comes.

No way, they are Tolkien women. And Tolkien women understand there are much more important things in life than sweeping up.

I'm listening to him. "Little Sister Don't Ya Cry"

That's for you today! :-)

Yeah, I got that Gretchen Wilson CD a couple of weeks ago! I love the Here for the Party song even more than Redneck Woman! LOL.... I think when we get to wedding moot that's the first song Ruthy's gonna hear! :-)

But, right now, it's Dwight.

No time for fly-lady here either!

Cool story about the lotto winner! :-)

I'm so stressed out! My mom is going on an Alaskan cruise starting this Saturday so I had to take all of next week off, rather than just Thursday and Friday. Trouble is, Monday thru Wednesday are the heaviest payroll days of the month and the grumbling has started about me being out. And I'm not taking the days off for fun, I'm only taking them off because I don't have anyone to watch my kids! *sigh*

Why oh why does my mom manage to put me in a crisis at least once a month? I don't begrudge her the vacation, but she had originally told me she was leaving on the 19th and that was fine - leaving the 12th however, has really complicated my life.

Oh my gosh!!! And if I were only in Miami I could keep the kids for you and there would be no problem! It is just not right that we live so far apart Ruthy!

But if you were in Miami, then I would be taking the days off for fun! *laughing*

Why on earth would I want to be at work when we could be at the beach?

LOL.... well, I kinda meant *if I lived in Miami* and was there all the time, this would be taken care of.

But, of course, if I lived in Miami I would probably have a real job and no time on my hands like I do now so that wouldn't work either.

But, it was a thought!

Bimini is a great little island, one of Hemingway's old hangouts. No fou-fou resorts on it, Bimini is simply an island where people go to fish hard, dive hard, drink hard, and some to do a little drug smuggling.

The waters are shockingly beautiful turquoise, azure, and indigo, the beaches are lovely, the people friendly, the ladies very pretty and saucy.

It's been a few years since I made the crossing, I had forgotten how much I loved it there, returning made me want to weep with joy, to my surprise.

Now *that* sounds like the kind of tropical island I want to visit!!!!
