Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

"London Homesick Blues"
written by Gary P. Nunn

Well, when you're down on your luck,
And you ain't got a buck,
In London you're a goner.
Even London Bridge has fallen down,
And moved to Arizona!
Now I know why.
And I'll substantiate the rumor
That the English sense of humor
Is drier than than the Texas sand.
You can put up your dukes,
And you can bet your boots
that I'm leavin' just as fast as I can!

I wanna go home with the Armadillo!
Good country music from Amarillo and Abilene!
The friendliest people and the prettiest women you've ever seen.

Well, it's cold over here, and I swear
I wish they'd turn the heat on.
And where in the world is that English girl
I promised I would meet on the third floor.
And of the whole damn lot,
The only friend I've got
Is a smoke and a cheap guitar.
My mind keeps roamin',
My heart keeps longin'
To be home in a Texas bar.

I wanna go home with the Armadillo!
Good country music from Amarillo and Abilene!
The friendliest people and the prettiest women you've ever seen.

Well, I decided that I'd get my cowboy hat
And go down to Marble Art Station.
'Cause when a Texan fancies
He'll take his chances,
Chances will be taken!
And that's for sure.
And them Limey eyes,
They were eyein' the prize
That some people call manly footwear.
And they said you're from the South,
And when you open your mouth,
You always seem to put your foot there.

I wanna go home with the Armadillo!
Good country music from Amarillo and Abilene!
The friendliest people and the prettiest women you've ever seen.

Cept.... for some of the others I should prolly point out the bad part.

Well, it's cold over here, and I swear
I wish they'd turn the heat on.
........
And when you open your mouth,
You always seem to put your foot there.

You betcha!

Pull that hat down over your forehead, set your teeth, and do the thing, whatever it may be! You're a Texan, and that means something!

LOL ... of course, there is the redeeming part. (The friendliest people and the prettiest women you've ever seen.)

Ruh-roh. The rip-roaring Mahler and Shostakovich I've been blasting has got Hair all tense. Time to put on something more relaxing.

G'night!

Crap... just found out that it's been raining for about a half hour. Top was down.

Drag. I hate it when that happens.

OH NO!!!

I'm sorry. Best of luck with that! I know, you will be wet. Hope you can deal with it okay.

Goodnight sweetie.

Oh, it's not the first time it's happened and won't be the last. Gonna have wet butt. But that's about the worst of it. Most stuff in there is pretty much rain tight except for the leather seats. Wipe 'em off and let 'em dry and everything will be alright.

I wondered if you had anything in there that would get messed up. Couldn't really imagine that you would but I never know.

I suppose I would look at a convertible the way I do my bike. Weather is gonna happen and ya better be prepared to just deal with it.
