OK, read up TO Chapter 17 during lunch. I hope I have some reading time tonight, but I dunno. With it being music night...I probably will have to wait, unless I stay up very late. But I'll have an hour or so to read after everyone leaves...we'll see what I can do with that.

The whole state of Vermont has about 600,000...which is a big increase from what it was when I was little, I believe. But it's less than many biggish cities.
I think I'll always prefer rural areas, but nice cities with character are wonderful places to visit!

We could do a color *other* than 2J's pink. LOL
But, for the groom, maybe nekkid toes is okay!

Does Steve Fromholz' Texas Trilogy remind you of the UP?Well, yes and no (I haven't heard it, but I just went and looked up the lyrics.) The feeling of a once-thriving area slowly dying off is the same... but all the references to the heat just don't fit at all. ;)

I get bored and uncomfortable now, if I spend a long time in a rural area. The last time we spent a while in the U.P. was in 1999, when we arrived before Christmas and didn't leave until after New Year's (spent over 2 weeks up there). By the time that stay was over I was really sick and tired of the place... couldn't wait to get back to Austin.
So, my feeling is just the opposite of yours... I like to visit rural areas, but I wouldn't want to live in one. ;)

It's not a race! I'm gonna read 'em as I have time. And then eventually watch the movies. I saw the first one when it came out, but hadn't read the books. I'd like to see it again. And I've never seen the second or third.

I get bored and uncomfortable now, if I spend a long time in a rural area. That's the way my brother is - the next in age after me. He lives in San Francisco, of all places, and loves it there. All the things that would spook me, he finds entertaining...and he loves all the bookstores and restaurants and different cultural areas. He gets restless if he's here for long.
But the other brother who moved out there not long ago is really homesick. He loves activity...but he always seemed to FIND activity here. He's hoping to move back after he's saved up some money.
