Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Where did the van end up?

Hope it's nothing serious!

Oh, it's in the front of my folks house...it's probably gonna cost a hundred million dollars to fix. My folks don't live very far away, so I just drove it squealing over here.

I'll take it to Mr. KC Automotive down the street when after I pick up Matthew...he's a great guy. He'll give me a ride home.

Sounds like probably a belt slipped? Maybe that'll be all, and not too expensive! Here's hopin'...

I'm sitting here actually wishing I was home working on my lawn and garden. I must be sick.

I'm hoping...but not too optimistic.

I ran over something the other night and didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't see what it was...felt like maybe a rock or a turtle or something hard like that in the road. Ever since then, my oil level gauge thing in my dash has just been swinging and swinging....swings all the way to way past low when I excelerate and after I get to my cruising speed, it swings back to the normal position in th middle. Then when I slow down it swings back over to lower than low!

Maybe I knocked somthin' loose?

After that, I quit driving at night without my glasses...I kept watching the news seeing if there was a hit and run on that particular street!!! Just kiddin, but just barely.

I dunno...I'll be praying that it's something cheap. Considering how much I drive on back roads and over rocks and ruts, it doesn't seem like running over something should do much damage, but we'll see, I guess!

Gonna go heat up my lunch...

It's still cold in here! 67 outside and rising, but I swear it's gotta be a LOT less than that in here.

Coool. So it was returned because he isn't ~there~ any more...

Yes!!! And it must have gotten there while he was in transition because Tom says if they're back to a new location the army forwards them to that location. Which means, the platoon has one final package coming and they will receive it in Germany - maybe this week. I bet they won't be near as good in Germany as they were in Iraq. But, I bet they'll be a welcome little celebration for the guys!

I think that's probably an oil pressure gauge instead of an oil level gauge. If it varies with acceleration it could be that the level has been low and there's just not enough perform all functions.

Ok. Well, I'll take it to Mr. KC this afternoon and have him check that. He's a fine Christian man and I think highly of him. I know there are Christians that'll steal you blind, but he's not one of them. I've gotten second opinions and his has always been a fair (not always cheap) but fair quote.

If it's actually running way too low on oil you should even add oil before you drive it 50 feet!

Oh well, don't worry about it. God will take care of your van just like he takes care of all our other things.

My folks just called. They are already on their way home. They went to Missouri for a bit to look at an old Cemetary and mark it with my mom's GPS for her geneology. They won't be too much longer and my dad said he'd follow me on out to Mr. KC's shop.

Yep...the Lord's already got the van thing under control...with a little help from Mr. KC! LOL

I don't know if there will be an opportunity to leave anything, but if there are Hobbit Hole messages, I'd be willing to try.

A simple spoken "Thank Mr. President" works for me. Godspeed master dwarf.
