There's gotta be someone on here who could make a "Free Republic" (if the owner of this site agreed) pocket knife---made in USA. I know I would purchase one.

Buck knives are made in California. I've had the same one for 26 years.

Buck knife, I believe, is a folding pocket knife. Costs about $40 or so, though, for something you could have bought a generation ago for, well, a buck.
If you want their very best, about $175

Buck knives are made in California. Not for long. They are packing up and leaving because the liberals in the legislature drove them and many other businesses away. I think they are moving to Idaho.

Don't do it. That's how they all start--just a little pocket knife to clean my fingernails with. Soon they move up to a stiletto, then a hunting knife, and before they know it they've joined the NRA and are terminally depressed because they can't carry their RPGs in public.
Clean your fingernails with a toothpick.

I love my Leatherman "super tool." If I were buying another one, I'd also look for one sold with the nylon pouch, not the leather version -- just my preference.

If you are not hung up on it 'just has to be made in US' -
Old Time Barlow Knife
Just like Grandpa's pocketknife
A good Barlow knife is often the first pocketknife a young man owns. An all-purpose, functional knife and inexpensive enough that you aren't afraid to use it. Clip and pen blades are hand-sharpened, plastic handle, great for carving, hunting, trapping. 3 3/8" closed. Made in Ireland.
About $10

I've had a Leatherman Micra on my keychain nearly forever and it's been absolutely
wonderful. I don't leave the house without it (well, that's probably 'cause it's on my
keychain.)
If I lost it, I'd buy another immediately.

I'd move to Idaho too, if I could.

I have been carrying a Gerber LST for close to 15 years now. Its a single blade, lightweight and very flat pocket. Blade length is about 2.5". Good for dress slacks or blue jeans. Its just the most handiest knife I've found for a good, simple pocket knife.
Costs about $18.00 and I have given quite a few of them as gifts to friends and employees.
Nothing fancy. Just a good knife.

Benchmade!
They are awesome. You can find them at a pretty good price at www.cheaperthandirt.com.
Their website is www.benchmade.com.
One hand opening, razor sharp blades, great warranty, and many choices.

Some pretty nice knives out there.
(Honestly, don't know if it's a 100% U.S. company)
