Evening Corin; subbing for LSA here on the "Lady Gardner" question. Let the leaves die down naturally, the leaves continue to nourish the bulbs and you'll get blooms next year. If they happen to be a spot that is destined for other things, dig them up and let the leaves dry on the stem with the bulb. Then replant bulbs in the appropriate spot.
Our columbines are in full bloom and we're seeing some of the daylilies starting to bud. The second round of iris is coming on, these are the yellow/gold ones, the purple have departed. All the black locust trees are in full bloom, pretty early this year, normally Memorial Day.

The ones out back are being nicely hidden by the daylilies and the iris (which have yet to bloom).
I've got other stuff coming in around the ones at the front. I think I'll just live with it. I'm not interested in digging them up.
