My grandmother used to make cinnamon rolls and while she was making them, she'd sit me up on the kitchen table (a blue formica top and nickel-plated table) and feed be patties of butter!

I am always looking for one of those blue formica top tables...

Yeah, those are HARD to find now!! They were real popular in antique/collectible boutiques years ago. My grandmother had a 50s style yellow formica top table with the chrome edging. I was offered a chance to take it, but despite my sentimentality for it, I knew it wouldnt go with anything I had. Instead, I inherited the wood table that was considered the 'formal' dining.

I need to see about having that refinished.

Isnt it bittersweet to have all these memories, and want to pass this on to your own kids??? I wish I could give Erin have the childhood with my grandparents that I had, but it can't be. buying a house next to a creek is about as good as we can manage.
