Can you see killer whales from Orcas Island?

Sure... but heck... we sometimes see killer whales (aka Orcas) from my own deck. They're very cool, in a whole 'nother world of cool.

In the greater Puget Sound the resident pod of orcas is generally known as "J" pod. They show up all over the place.

Wow, I'd love to see that! Have seen some videos of the killers swimming at Pugent Sound but to see it live must be quite another experience. Killer whales are probably my favorite marine animal to watch after Great Whites.

Incidentally, I was watching a documentary on orcas over the weekend and it mentioned that their range is wider than any other species other than man. That surprised me as I usually hear of them being spotted in the Arctic or Pacific and didn't realize they ranged so widely in other oceans.
