Glad you're getting back into it :) Before I started in Kung Fu, I earned my Black Belt in a style of Tae Kwon Do influenced by
Shudokan, which has many parallels with Shotokan though it's a little different in certain specifics. A book on Shotokan I'd highly recommend is
Masatoshi Nakayama, Dynamic Karate. Good luck on your next test! What do you have to learn for that?

hmm I think I remember someone in class recomending that book. I guess I will have to get it some time. As for what I need to know for the test... er not sure but I am sure I know it (just sloppy still) altogether I have done a couple years worth of Shudokan but it was broken up enough that I am still orange (had to re-earn that after taking 10+ years off). The company gym has some Tae Kwon Do classes that I might do some of once I get better at this style. I really want to learn Tae Kwan Leap some time too (boot the head!).
