BTW... went down to Captain's Nautical Supplies [Lord help me, but I lOVE that store] to have them look at the 20x80 Celestron binoculars that were broken.
Well... there's good news, and there's good news.
The good news is that they can be fixed, and I've left them there to be fixed by pretty much the only guy on the west coast that does this stuff.
The other good news is that his backlog is about two months at least and this forced me to buy a new set of big-eyes for the beach. OK... not forced... but strongly encouraged.
The other good news is that we now have a set of *really* *really* nice Fujinon big-eyes for the tripod. I've always wished I'd gone with Fujinon in the first place. They are a couple of orders of magnitude better optics than the Celestron set. Very bright and clear.
