Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hehehe...I think I'd take my chances with the tornado.

Me too. They don't have the same tendancy to spread and engulf everything.

*shudder*
Getting cornered by a fire is one of my worst nightmares. Seriesly, most of the nightmares I had as a kid involved fire in some form.

Okay, you take the tornado!
I never had fire nightmares. I was always about to get mutilated by wild animals in my kid-nightmares. Torn limb from limb so to speak. Usually I flew away.

Fire and volcanos in mine. And the occasional large flesh-eating spider. Ick.

Whoa! Joshua just took a major fall...
He was riding his bike in the street, he was cocky, going pretty fast...he went to turn around and didn't go wide enough and went into our neighbor's gravel driveway...the bike slipped sideways and he hit flat.
I was standing out in the street aways off and I took off at a full sprint and snatched him off the ground and ran home with him...Matthew ran and got his bike.
Bloodied both knees, his elbow and his forehead...no broke bones though. I cleaned him up in the bathroom.
He told me "I'm shaking all over!" and I said "So am I!!"

I guess I never had anything but kid-eating beasts. If I stayed asleep I always flew away. If I woke up I was traumatized. Better to stay asleep!

Ah...bike wrecks...the "joys" of summer. Hope he'll be okay (and ready to ride again) soon.

hmmm 2 months...
Based on my math it WOULD be possible to watch my collection in 2 months but you might have to sleep only an hour a day.
To: Wneighbor; Overtaxed
He must have hit the bike with his right knee...but it is definitely road rash on his left knee, left elbow and his left forehead!! Poor little fella...he tolerated it pretty good, imo.
He's playing with his Star Wars legos right now...like nothin' ever happened...I'm still shakin'...
I am just glad he didn't break anything or knock a tooth out! We'da got through it but I'm glad I don't have to, you know???

He's fine...bumbles bounce, it seems!
I asked him if he was ready to ride again and he said no, but I'm pretty sure he won't be off long...he was just getting really good.

When you fall off the horse you have to get right back up and shoot it.... or somthing like that.
