Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Those games and graphics were so cheesy, but I have to admit that I still love them!

I'd love to have an Atari 2600 with its good old-fashioned joystick instead of the complicated 16 buttons, 2 shifters, 4 action tabs, etc of these new-fangled game systems.

Just say no to Karaoke. The only thing it's good for is to give you something else to regret after an evening in a bar.

But say "Hi back!" to Trini... :-)

I know people sell old Atari systems--one of my old roommates had one--and there are also emulators so you can play the games on PCs.

The boys in my class used to race to see who could solve the Rubik's fastest--I think our record was 29 seconds :) We also did:

YIKES! I never could solve the Cube, so just the appearance of a triangle freaks me out!

Too much partying in my teen years....

Glad ya'll are here having a good time. Gotta get back to Marty.

Ruthy - Marty says "Hi" too. You should be here! You would fit right in to these *series* discussions we've been having! :-)

Ramius - Whaddaya mean? It's Friday? I didn't notice. Haven't had to be at work for the last 2 days! :-)

*ducking*

and I'm outta here for the evening unless I get back late after Marty crashes. She only had 3 hours sleep this morning! She's been yawnin' for a while! Gotta talk fast to keep her awake! :-)
