Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Never too late! Cueing the music to Delta Dawn! Next up is Texas When I Die. Can I sing along? It's impossible for me *not* to! :-)

The fact that there are long standing magazines devoted to weddings just boggles my mind!

Getting married is stressful enough just 'cause of the life changes...who wants to add a whole 'nother level of expense and headache?? I don't get it.

Either this way or set it up the night before, but I didn't want Steve to see my dress before, so that's why I opted for this way.

It was Sonya's wedding that is the example for me to NOT follow. They did formal photographs for two hours right before the ceremony. She here she was, all primped and perfect, standing there under hot photo lights, posing with every mathmatical combination of people. One of just her, one of her and Tim, one of her and her mother, one of Sonya and her mother and Tim. One of Tim with his dad, one of Sonya and Tim and both dads, one with both moms, one with moms and dads, one with the Bride and the bridesmaids, one with the groom and just the best man, one with just the maid of honor and the bride, one with the whole wedding party with grandma, one with the whole wedding party without grandma..... well you get the picture.

There were two things really wrong about it. First, it took all the meaning out of the ceremony. by the time they all ran back and hid for awhile while the guests arrived, they had been together two hours taking pictures, as if the whole point was the 'photo op' and not the actual wedding. The second thing was that Sonya was visibly miserable. She was sick, hadn't eaten, had thrown up twice, and looked like a pissed-off little brat. Now... I stopped the photographer twice when she was swaying and said "She needs a break". I'd lead her off where people would try to force donuts and water down her and make her happy, which was impossible. What she needed was to get out of that dress, have a ciagrette and a beer and relax.

rather than those MASSIVE planning guides they sell, it would just be a 12-page pamphlet.

Just make sure you charge the same as the massive planning guides, and you'll make a mint.

ROFLMAO!!!!

Hey, you weren't here last night so I hafta repeat myself on somethin'. Everybody else scuse me.... I got that Chris Ledoux CD last night - "Horsepower" :-) And earlier this week I got the Gretchen Wilson CD. You have *got* to hear this entire Gretchen CD. I'm not kidding - she is like Tanya Tucker at the beginning! I was 'fraid when I got the CD that "Redneck Woman" would be the only good song on it. But, this just rocks! You have *got* to hear it! :-)

Thanks for passing on the update from Steve! If he's reading, I'd be interested to hear how the process of adjusting to the 130-degree heat goes--something I've never experienced! Whew, that sounds hot! If I could Freepmail him an Orange Julius I would--here's the best I can do :)
