Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Sorry. But, maybe blinding is a good sign. If Ramius is blinded then he'll *have* to let me drive his car! :-)That sounds like a good plan. But there are less painful ways to blind someone--like sticking forks in their eyes, for instance :)

I'm with you sis...I don't want to be up late either!
As expected, I have a story...
One of my good friends from college was getting married and we had a bachelorette party for her...no big deal, but she went absolutely nuts. She got really drunk. Somehow (don't ask me how...this was in my ute and I don't remember big chunks), we ended up in the city and she disappeared! We were driving all over looking for her...near dawn we find her at her ex-boyfriend's house having a last fling...we had to force her in the car to get her home.
It was a nightmare. I was frightened, didn't know anyone and couldn't find my friend! Steve had gone off with the guys!
So we got back to the house (a guest house on the groom's property) and Steve was sitting on the porch swing, wondering where we were! It was like 5am!
My friend went to bed and went right to sleep. I abandoned the idea and sat with Steve on the porch swing and watched the sun rise. I was never so happy to see him.
I don't mind what we do as long as nobody abandons me in the city! LOL

Note to self: If 2J must be abandoned, do so in the country.

Was there some talk about going out on a boat at one time or another? I love going out on boats!

LOL!!!
It was aweful...I didn't know any of the girls (bridesmaids) and the girl that was driving was, ehem...chemically impaired. I was feeling paranoid anyways and then these girls were shrieking and driving around like maniacs.
I was scared to death.
Makes for a wild story, though...huh? I got a ton of 'em.

Isn't it interesting how the most disturbing of times make for the best stories now days? :-) Things you would never ever want to live through again are somehow a lot more fun in the retelling!
