The Hobbit Hole IX - A sudden tree or standing stone

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Ours was 87 to 67 when the front came through;

87--sounds nice :) I guess since we're cooler is why we're getting the temperature drop without the tornadoes, maybe.

Glad it's more or less under control. Takes a lot of effort to keep things like a pool open and functioning; you're to be commended for your patience.

OT: yup, pretty nice, took Gypsy for her walk downtown tonight, thursday night is late nite shopping (well, till 8 or so). Two different families with young 'uns wanted to pet Gypsy, she didn't seem to mind. :-)

Well for all the grief the pool has given me, we really do have a good board this year. And we've made a lot of progress.

You ain't got no Patsy Cline on that list. Folks won't really think yer married if Patsy don't sing "Always" or "Crazy."

Well, ya need to add Patsy and Dolly needs to sing "I will always love you." She's much better than Whitney.

Wife needs the 'puter, so I'm gonna go watch the rest of the movie on the actual tv.

Later. (prolly tomorrow).

I like Whitney's version of it OK... but it's too slow... this is a beach party!

Well, thanks to Whitney's version, the merest hint of that song will cause me to run screaming down the street.

Oh dear.

My hat ain't welcome!

I think I need to compile a playlist for the bachelorette shindig. I know, I know, you're only gonna be there 15 minutes.
