Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's after eleven and my eyes are closing in spite of my best efforts. I'm off to bed!
Nighty night!

Well, that's good ;~D
Least ~somethin~ works! - This software seems to be not getting fubared as often.... we'll have to load a machine there at the beach house with it.... and a new camera. Don't suppose you have any experience with good-and-not-too-expensive cameras? And would if have to be wireless in order to get close enough to show anything?

Are you making Gidget stay outside just to amuse those of us watching the HobbitCam?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
No - she came back in - but I am gonna send her back out!

I think wireless would be a good way to go. I'll try to run to Fry's in the next couple of days and see what they got. I need a new vid card for the cromwell2 box anyway. Just what I need... an excuse to go to Fry's... :-)

How much are they? - seems the wireless ones are pretty spendy...
A 'wired' one could work from the deck railing if it had even a medium ability to zoom. A wide shot of the scene without looking like a bunch of ants.

Are you around, young woman???
To: HairOfTheDog; Scott from the Left Coast
I flatly deny being a hobbit! I am a sheildwoman from Rohan!
We'll work out the sleeping situation...I have faith.

The "wired" ones usually only have about a ten ft cable or so, from what I've seen. I'm thinkin' that a wireless one down on the boathouse would be able to talk to the server without trouble. I will find out.
