Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We got sorta smacked by Botax for a day or two, but it's pretty well stomped out now. No worries. It was a sneaky little bastige.
Did you get my reply freepmail? I'm having HEAP big trouble getting through to FR for some reason that I can't 'splain. I think I have BAD DNS JUJU.

My flight gets in at 11:15 am ...that's in time for lunch, isn't it?
And if 2J doesn't mind going on Friday, she can take that 8:10 flight to KC and then take the 9:30 flight with me out to Seattle.

Friday there is nothing on the agenda at all official, so we were thinking we'd get together with all of ya Friday afternoon maybe for dinner.... but nothing ~late~ ;~D we need our rest! We know. We were plannin' on meetin' at that place Ramius and Sonya were workin' on and letting ya'll just show up when ya could. The rest of us who are coming early are going to be having fun *without* you for a bit on Thursday and during the day Friday!
Member, I told you I was coming a day early to help. My help is picking up OT at the airport! In Ramius' car! :-)

I haven't been on an airplane since 9/11...I feel a little green around the gills when I think about it, but I can handle it...

Yuck...sounds bad. We had one of the work study students who's around during the summer come in wanting help with his personal laptop, and since it's been slow at work, some of us looked at it (not me...yet). I think the latest is that we think it's infected with a NetSky variant. We're still tryin' to help him with that. It's complicated by the fact that his operating system is Japanese, and he hasn't been that great at translating errors word for word so we can look 'em up.
There isn't any one program that catches all these anymore, is there? I end up running several different spyware removal tools (Ad-Aware and Spybot), plus TrendMicro's Housecall if I'm working with a system without virus protection (though the user gets a lecture, too - this doesn't apply to college systems which we have locked down GOOD), plus a trojan detector and sometimes other stand-alone virus scanners. It's a pain in the rear.

Don't worry, sis! I'm not the greatest flyer in the world, and I've flown on 4 planes this year alone. WHEW!!
Just remember that God is in control and when He calls us home, it doesn't matter where we are. And I don't think He plans to call us anytime soon! We'll be fine!!
