Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So you are leaving the stump at home or would you check him as baggage? ;~D

I wouldn't serve up the stump as a meal... But maybe one of them chainsaw woodcarvers can fashion him into something nice and friendly!

What's the latest big one? I think we've been lucky so far this year...last one to hit us very hard was the very first version of Nachi / Welchia.

I think OT, WN and Ruthy are flying in Friday right? would you be bringing the Jedis? Scott, how many can you handle? Are ya overloaded for Friday and Saturday? The nights afterwards I thought we'd camp here in the witch's circle, or at least come down here for days, if it doesn't work to camp, I can sleep some people here or there is a pretty cheap reasonable, yet new hotel (a best western) not too far away.

Oh - well, that is fine too, though ecurbh and I will be kinda tied up with family stuff Thursday. We kinda planned to focus on meeting ecurbh's family and spending time with them before, and friends after.
I know it is vital that we come down here Sunday so you can see it before you have to go.

It's not just one virus, it's a whole host of malware:
- The HuntBar IE toolbar (also called WinTools, does not require network connection).
- One of the Korgo variants, likely Korgo.C
- The Newgina password capture utility.
- Certain later NetSky variants.
The most obvious symptom is a system crash at login with a Stop 0xC000021A or STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED blue-screen-o'-death. You can also get an empty dialog box at login, and it takes 5minutes or more to get past it by clicking OK.
It's pretty durn nasty.
