Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

My poor mother didnt know what to make of me.Mine still doesn't! She's been trying harder since her mama's been gone though. I feel bad for her about her loss in that too. She doesn't seem capable of sharing her grief though. Only just little tell-tale signs.

Oh good luck!!! Prayer will do surprising things!! Yeah! As I was typing your reply it just dawned on me that perhaps that's what's needed! At this point I think both the Inauguration and Entmoot 2 will be out of my reach unless I get some prayer and God's help! :-)

Posted this in the saddle club thread too, but this was a pretty cool moment that just happened that I thought y'all'd find interesting too! Saw the horses both layin' down in the pasture for a nap, and we went out to get some pictures and see how close I could get ;~D

They stayed down till we walked away ~smiles~

Here they are...
Steve with a the horse, name's Bunny, because it's ears are docked from freezing off when it was a newborn...

I keep telling him he looks like a doof wearing safety glasses for shades...
Here is Joshua riding...

And Matthew sitting on the horse

Here is Matthew riding solo, with Steve standing by...Matthew pulled too hard on the bit just as I took the picture, but we corrected that...

Note the shirt Steve is wearing...he used to couldn't wear it...it was too small.

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Bay laying down, leastwise not when the pony was resting, too. Pretty neat!

But like I say, when we got married I thought I was getting a man from Rohan...when I sobered up, I found he was a Dwarf.
Not that that's a bad thing, mind you...

Not that that's a bad thing, mind you... Indeed.
You'd ask a dwarf to shave his beard???

That's not a park, it's one of our fellow homeschoolers' back yards! There is a house right next door for sale, looks just the same. The house on the other side of it is also owned by a homeschooling family! I am dying for that house in the middle!

Bay doesn't lay down as often as the pony does.... she naps every day, usually with him standing guard over her.

Yep, they paid 85K for it, 5 acres with a large one-story house. It's gorgeous.
The other homeschoolers on the other side of the house that's for sale paid 82K for theirs, a two-story house on five acres.
Of course, the little house in between is for sale for 162K...wouldn't ya know it.

Yes it does, track 21. However, the weapon is incomplete because I do not have the last two tracks yet. Research continues. Two tracks for the Vulcan, doomed to die
