New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Race?
GAH! Bilbo steals another Precious!!!!
Hi 2J!!!
I don't know that I can go. Lil has invited us of course. And Corin too. We have a place to stay if we go and Lil and I were talkin' about the red dresses we needed. I'm pretty much stuck without air fare I think though. My summer school classes didn't have enough students enroll so I won't be getting that money this summer. Which pretty much means I'm on a shoestring budget the rest of the year.
hehe... since I've been here at home the last week I've made it clear to all family members that air fare would be a great Christmas gift though. However, that's pretty much a pipe dream... Grama is the only family member I had that ever gave me such Christmas gifts. So, from the look of it, I will prolly only dream about it! :-)
I didn't wear red for most of my life... but since I switched hair colors from red to blonde I have found that I look purdy good in red. It is entering my wardrobe more and more. LOL
I have always liked wearing lots of bright colors though. Something that drove my "brown, beige and blue" mom nuts!
denied.
vey small world.
Red has been a recent thing for me, too. Makes me feel confident and bold. I figure if I can let my clothes make that statement for me, I don't have to risk opening my mouth and offending anybody.
My Mom always joked about her "gypsy" clothes...she loved bright colors, and so do I! Sometimes hard to find 'em, though...
I like hot pink and bright turquoise, especially. And royal blue with bright colored flowers, which is what the dress is that I wore to her funeral. I love the colors.
Wish I'd known you were there. I woulda called. We pulled into the Springfield Metro that morning and the transmission went out in my car ~completely out of fluid. Rather than let it ruin the day, we went on. But it took us a while to get it going again, and I shouldn't have driven it back to Richmond.
Aunt Cheryl and I watched movies till 4 this morning again. Gotta load up my stuff and head into the dreaded north again today.
Travel only by day... stay off the road. If your luck holds, the Gap of Rohan will still be open to you.
Ooooh, I remember it was a soggy, cold day. You had car trouble on top of that? Yikes!
Hey! That's a good plan! Need to try that. My wardrobe is very heavy with greens, blues and yellows. Bright ones though. And I wear lots of white tops. Adding red is kinda putting some color variety into my closet. Bold... I need that! :-)
Are we talking about the Presidential Inauguration???????
I think that's great! Grama was the one who always got me bright colored clothes when I was growing up. Mama used to always say I looked like white trash when I came back from Grama's. My mom is one of those people that always gets comments of how "elegant" she looks. But, I just get so bored with all those muted colors! I guess "elegance" on her level is out of my reach, but I think I look rather good in those "white trash" bright colors! LOL (and I don't care what she thinks!)
OTOH my mom did teach me to dress for *any* occasion whatsoever and I can still pull off her "look" if it's appropriate, much to the shock of some folks. :-)
hehehe... I will carry this burden.... though I know not how. Still waiting for Aunt Cheryl to wake up. We did enjoy our last night to gab and watch movies again. She told me to wake her up when I got up... but I figured I'd take some Hobbit Hole time first... :-)
It was a pretty miserable day all around. But Jr. will never forget the fact that he saw four Presidents that day.
elegance always meant boring to me...I love muted colors, but the same gyspy STYLE ie hankerchief hemlines, poet blouses, long sashes. My poor mother didnt know what to make of me.
Yes ma'am! I wish I could see this dream come true... but it'll have to be some divine intervention I think. :-)
perhaps there's a prayer request in there!
I know y'alls helped tremendously, praise be to God!
