Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hmmm--Bakshi disappears, just as Wneighbor and Darksheare appear--have they ever been seen in the same place as Bakshi at the same time?--hmmm. . .

The temptation to play "Bullet with Butterfly wings" for the Balrog scene would have been too great.

Well, goodnight Ruthy!
I've had a really nice relaxing day. Visited with aunt, uncle and cousins a lot. My remaining grandmother even made a short appearance here to visit. Was a nice warm day and we played outside a lot. Fun. :-)

I was wrong--I thought
Kingdom Hospital was done but I guess it actually runs into July. There's an episode guide
here.
I never read From a Buick 8. I actually haven't read any of King's new stuff for a while. I read everything he wrote up to about Pet Semetary and then kind of got behind. I need to start catching up!
Silver Bullet wasn't my favorite but it was fun. I liked Creepshow and Pet Semetary, too. My favorite King movie adaptations are probably Carrie, 'Salem's Lot, The Dead Zone, Cat's Eye, and The Stand.

You hadn't seen it before?
To: Fedora; Wneighbor
Maybe we're naturally repellant to Bakshi.

1 for animation effort
1 for musical effort
1 for even attempting to tackle Tolkien Don't the dancing horses get a star?

Have either of you seen the series The Dead Zone on USA network? I've watched the last season and really enjoyed it... new season starts in June.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I've only seen it a couple times... and years apart. The last time at Entmoot.
Why on earth are drawings overacting so much?

It's the opposite, I think... The Bakshi is naturally repellant...

I watched some of the first season of that and the episodes I saw were pretty good. I didn't know there were new episodes.

That was the Nazgul room-cleaning sevice :) You must be about the part where Frodo and Sam have a special moment while Strider is telling a love story.
