Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Bakshi Smeagol has arrived, my Precious! Now I actually thought Bakshi Smeagol was pretty funny--I think Jackson took some stuff from him.

Flat Frodo has a look on his face like he's wishing he wasn't being forced to pose alongside Bakshi Frodo :)

He's got that on Rankin-Bass Gollum. On the other hand he's got that awful loincloth. . .

They look like they're threatening each other.

It's a duel between Frodos! Kinda like that one Star Trek with the evil Captain Kirk. . .

Of course if it's a duel it's kinda unfair in that Big-Screen Frodo has a size advantage over Flat Frodo.

Big-Screen Frodo has a size advantage over Flat Frodo.Plus, he's got that helmet-hair working for him.

I always thought Bakshi Treebeard looked kinda like a giant cakeroll. . .

Does this Bakshi thing have a built-in Temporal Suckage Modulator? Just seems like it sucks worse since the last time I saw it...
Does Treebeard look like an ambulatory carrot, or what?

True: the helmet-head is natural armor. On the other hand, Flat Frodo being two-dimensional can block any attack by merely turning sideways. It's a tough call.

He's just jealous because the Bakshi Frodo has bigger hair.
To: ExGeeEye
Does this Bakshi thing have a built-in Temporal Suckage Modulator?Quite possible--Bakshi could have used his contacts in the cartoon industry to get one of those from Marvin the Martian.

I'm back! Phone call took MUCH longer than I'd expected and, of course, Becky caught a stomach bug somewhere and has been laid up all day.
She woke up and drank an entire box of apple juice (I'd warned her not to) and ended up hurling on the couch. *sigh* SO, I had to bathe both kids and get them into bed and NOW I finally came back!
Needless to say, Becky has changed the channel on me and is watching Toy Story 2 on the Disney Channel. But I will change it back in a moment here to torment her! *wicked laugh*
