Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 | Still round the corner there may waitA new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 | Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Just thinking about that, now I need to go vomit. UGH!! Oops. So sorry, here's a cold rag and I'll clean up the mess if I have to... since I caused it! Yikes!

    hehehehe...I should!

It's a darn shame I need this job as badly as I do. It leaves no room for "harmless" jokes.

I felt awkward going because I didn't know *anybody* yet so Tommy drove all the way up there to go to it with me. Now, *that* is a decent friend!Amen to that!

"Fruit and nut snaig" should fit nicely in the keywords.

I have seen an aerial photograph of swimmers off the Key Biscayne beach, in Miami. You could see big sharks swimming right around the swimmers, right there in with them, lots of them. I think those bastards are always there, but the swimmers can't see 'em, unless the water's very clear. They don't seem usually to bite, though, which is a plus.

In the Bahamas, the water is very clear, over there, I have seen big sharks come right up to the beach, big bulls and tigers, upwards of 400 lbs. Hate to get bitten out there, no medical help, you'd have to get a plane to fly out from Miami to take you back there to Jackson.

I have actually thought of getting some of those for my classroom walls. I think it would give my students a good grasp on what to expect in the workplace! Doncha think that would be good? :-)

I think the first one would go fantastically in my classroom. It never ceases to amaze me how one student who is clueless can convince the whole room full of more knowledgeable students that he is right!

I've seen some aerial photographs like that, too, though I think the ones I saw were a beach off Hawaii. I believe it was in a 20/20 segment that aired quite a while ago.
