Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I simply ADORE those forensics shows! New Detectives, C.S.I., etc - Discovery Channel, TLC and Court TV are chock-full of 'em!

Glad you got some running in! :) I've added some running to my routine for the past two days myself. I noticed it involves very different muscles and heartrate/breathing patterns than my regular martial arts workout--despite building up my aerobic stamina for my other exercises running still gets my heart rate and breathing up, plus my calves get sore. I figure that'll go away if I stick with it and stretch my calves some.

What's wrong with your toe?

Forensics would be way more fun without all those dead people.

After that we went to bed and spent quite a while staring at the ceiling and asking one another "Are you awake??" Heh...

LOL!

It was definitely a long trip! Enjoyed it, but then I was riding in the back of the church van rather than driving--might've not enjoyed it as much if I was the one stuck with the driving :)

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA!! If it wasn't in such bad taste, I'd use that for a tagline!

I just looked and Greyhound says 16 hours, which is including 1 transfer, so in a car it'd probably be several hours less than that.

Since I'm forbidden to discuss Kenshin here, you've got mail :)

The mileage on that says 688 miles.

10-11 hours, if you stick to the speed limit!

Good evening...

I love to watch them on cable too, whenever I am babysitting the poodles.

I like CSI Miami...the one in NYC was good the other night...

The special victims unit one too...can't think of the name. And Steve and I rarely miss NYPD Blue...

Matthew's a funny kid...really intense about things he's in to...

I've been accused of that :) Didn't you say he was really intense about carrying the flag in school that one time? :)

Oh, that was Joshua...he took that real series. But that was mainly because I don't normally allow the jedis to touch the flag...

Hmmm...let's see here....

Say, Ruthy, wanted to let you know... if you can't get the Entmoot video transferred to your computer, I have the means of doing it, as long as I have a copy of the tape and I can play it in my VCR.

well, that depends on your average speed. It's a days drive from KC to Denver or the Springs. Tack on a couple hours on your end and several on G'nads end and you have a right good long day. The cruising speed across KS is generally 80 or so I have been told. You got the Mo hill country roads at the end of the day and that's not the best actually. However, it might make for an adventure for hobbit lass.
